Emily joined me after work, but I was already done at 5:15 (the root canal was amazingly fast and painless and cured the Vicodin-worthy pain I was in all weekend) so had almost an hour to take in Van Kleef with maybe 5 other people in the whole place. My face was in such good shape I started thinking about dinner, and when I mentioned the 7 Courses of Beef at Saigon around the corner in Ogawa Plaza, her eyes lit up, and we went there. But, stupidly, I didn't move my car out of the city garage, forgetting that Oakland rolls up the sidewalks at 7pm. Wound up taking BART back in the rain and having to come back the next morning and pay $19.75.
